Story Of Pablo Escobar Coming To Netflix

Following the success of the original series House of Cards, Netflix have teamed up, once again, with Gaumont International Television to bring the story of notorious Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar to our screens.
The 13 part series, Narcos, is written by Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro, and was created by Brazilian movie director Jose Padilha. It will chronicle the life and death of Escobar who the head of the Medellin Cartel and a known terrorist. He was also a congressman and a family man, and was considered by the poor to be a modern day Robin Hood figure.
The series is planned to debut sometime in 2014 on Netflix.
Before Narcos hits our screens Netflix will launch three more original shows.
Hemlock Grove, debuts in April and tells the story of the murder of a young girl, the strange happenings at a local biotech facility, a Gypsy kid turned werewolf and the mysterious family that runs the town and is also produced Gaumont International Television.
Orange Is The New Black, debuting in the summer, is a female prison comedy-drama, from Weeds creator Jenji Kohan. It is based on Piper Kerman’s memoir Orange Is The New Black: My Year In a Women’s Prison and will be produced by Lionsgate Television.
And of course there is the resurrection of Arrested Development on May 4th to look forward to.
