You may remember, back in July 2011, ABC cancelled popular daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live. At the time the idea of airing these 2 soap operas online was mentioned, but after having trouble finding the funding to continue and conflicts over digital distribution, the concept was shelved. Now, following various agreements and after finding the initial financing, it appears the shows will be returning to our screens later this year. The new episodes will be produced by Prospect Park, who have announced a distribution agreement with Hulu and iTunes. Both shows will air 30 minutes episodes, 5 days a week, and will be available for free on Hulu and Hulu Plus, or for download on Apples iTunes store.
Both series will be bringing back actors and behind-the-scenes staff from the TV shows, with the production expected to begin next month.
